Hello Fellow Toastmasters, just a brief up-date on what happened at the last U Speak Easy meeting,
and plans for our next --
The Club's fall speech contest stretched our attendees to the limit -- everyone participated
one way or another. We were helped out by our Area Governor, Jay Melrose, who acted as contest master. One of
our club's frequent Toastmaster visitors, Laura Melrose, also assisted as our Chief Judge. Many thanks to Laura and
Jay, and thanks go as well to our other contest judges: Tony Brenna and Geri Fowler. Tony also did double
duty as Timer.
The results of the Tall Tales Contest: Elena Brenna, first place
Lois Watford, second place
Both Elena and Lois will represent the club at the Area contest on Friday, October 14 in Poulsbo.
Meanwhile, at our next meeting they will be rehearsing their speeches. So if you missed the club contest, be sure to
attend our next meeting so you can hear their creative efforts, and offer some helpful feedback.
The results of the Table Topics Contest: Lois Watford, first place
Geri
Fowler, second place
Congratulations to the winners and to the other club members who took up the challenge to participate: Greg Moore
and Robyn Dabell.
Both Lois and Geri will represent the club at the Area contest in the Table Topics category on
October 14.
There will also be a third speaker at next Wednesday's meeting: Robyn Dabell will make
her Icebreaker.
We have plenty of openings in the lineup for the 12th. We have three speakers, and an evaluator
for Robyn. Lois and Elena will not need individual evaluators. All other roles are still open.
